- Despite the well-known benefits of parent involvement in children's education, research clearly shows that it is difficult to effectively involve parents. This study aims to capture parents' views of a Blog Based Parent Involvement Approach (BPIA) designed to secure parent involvement in education by strengthening school-parent communication. Data were collected using parent observation forms and interviews conducted with parents. Findings suggest that BPIA effectively supports parent involvement and has numerous benefits both for children and parents. Difficulties faced by parents during implementation mostly stemmed from factors external to the approach. It is suggested that BPIA has the potential to secure active parental involvement by improving home-school communication. Parents strongly believe the approach should be implemented more widely.
